Ordinary Spokes will welcome in spring with a group ride on Saturday March 20.

Meet at the lower duck pond in Bowring Park 3pm for a pleasant trek out to Fort Amherst and back.

CCA Team Selection Advisory Groups

The Canadian Cycling Association is looking for individuals to help with the selection of national team members in all cycling disciplines.

Ordinary Spokes is offering a clinic to show you how to stud your tires for safer winter riding.

Bicycle Newfoundland & Labrador now has new digs ... in the Sport NL suite of offices at 31 Peet Street, St.John's.

Sport NL Scholarships & Bursaries

Sport Newfoundland and Labrador is accepting applications for its annual scholarship/bursary program.

The purpose of the Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance to qualifying amateur athletes, coaches and officials to help offset the costs of training and competition. Students currently enrolled in a recognized post secondary institution and participating in athletic, coaching, or officiating endeavors are eligible to apply for a scholarship/bursary.

The deadline for applications is March 5 2010 with forms other information available at www.sportnl.ca.

BNL Board & Reports

The BNL AGM took place last night and the new Board is in place for the 2010 Season:

• Kevin Baldwin - President (year 2 of 2-year term)
• Scott Humber - VP Finance (year 2 of 2-year term)
• Paul Collet - VP Road (year 2 of 2 year term)
• Craig Hodder - VP Mountain (interim pending new recruit)
• Leon Organ - VP Recreation & Transportation (new position)
• Eric Kedrosky - VP Marketing & Communication (year 1 of 2-year term)

Special thanks to Craig Hodder who has agreed to remain in the role until a replacement is found, and to Amy Pryse-Phillips who turns the reins over to Eric after serving on the Board for some 7 years.

BNL AGM Nominations Due Today

Note that the BNL Annual General Meeting and Election of Officers is this Wednesday January 27 starting 7pm at the Soccer Hut, Arena Road in Mount Pearl.

If you are interested in a position on the Board be sure to drop an email to admin@bnl.nf.ca before the day is out.

The BNL AGM is coming up on Wednesday January 27 and note that the association is looking to fill the executive positions of VP Marketing & Communications, VP Mountain Biking, and VP Recreation & Transportation.

Consider throwing your hat in the ring and helping shape the future of cycling in our province. If you're interested in either of these positions send an email to admin@bnl.nf.ca by Monday January 25.
